The Santa Fe Ranch has been a working cattle ranch for at least fifty years.
The Santa Fe Ranch is located in an area that is rich in agricultural history. Native populations, Jesuit Missionaries, Anglo and Hispanic settlers have all practiced agriculture in the local area. Presently, the Santa Fe Ranch is a working cow/calf ranch that is leading the way in demonstrating sustainable livestock production practices. We hope to share that knowledge with fellow ranchers to increase their sustainability. The Santa Fe Ranch has also been recognized for environmental stewardship by the Society for Range Management. We recently completed our 34th year of data collection on the impacts of grazing. The ranch has been the site of numerous nutrition trials that have tested the applicability of mineral and protein supplementation.
