Project Description

The Ranch serves as head quarters for the Natural Resource Conservation District. The NRCD, together with the Natural District Conservation Service, serves as the interface between the USDA and the local farming and ranching community. Together with NRCD volunteers, the Ranch has conducted grass surveys, has established weather stations, and has developed a low water garden where visitors can admire native plants suitable for our region. The NRCS has been key in obtaining funds for the ranch’s river bank conservation program set to be rolled out in 2015.
